  1. Group 12 discussed this over email as well as in person. We looked at two different programs, ChiroTouch and WonderDoc, and came up with the following criteria that we would use to make our decision:

    1. cost-effective
    2. user friendly
    3. good customer service from company that owns the program
    4. streamline-avoids redundancy in data entry
    5. easy to navigate quickly between screens
    6. easily individualized between patients so each SOAP note doesn’t sound the same

  4. Group 11 discussed this topic via email. We looked at the ECLIPSE and SOAPware EHR programs and decided we would use the following criteria in order to decide between them:

    1. Certification
    2. User friendliness
    3. Cost
    4. Training
    5. Customer service

ECLIPSE is an EHR software program used by thousands of chiropractic, physical therapy, and medical offices in all 50 states. It certified for HIPAA since 2003, and the documentation for billing, SOAP, scheduling, reminders, and document management are all standard. ECLIPSE also allows the user to pull up multiple patient files without having to “undo” previous activity (many user find this beneficial).

SOAPware can be used for most practice sizes and medical specialties, but it is primarily used by small to mid-sized primary care and general medicine facilities. Features include E&M coding, medical history integration and patient education handouts. They are “committed to delivering the highest levels of customer care, offering expert training and assistance to ensure seamless deployments.”

  5. 6.4

The 2 different EHR companies that we looked at were Chirotouch and Life Systems Software and both have some pros and cons. Both can incorporate notes, scheduling, and billing. Chirotouch has features like filling assessments out online and the program can be customized to fit your needs. Life Systems has random text generation which could be a pro or con depending on the doctor. Our group decided that the 5 most important issues one would be faced with when deciding between the 2 programs is Cost, how easy is it to use, the helpfulness and availability of technical support, back-up capabilities, and personalization capabilities. Overall, it depends on how the doctor plans on practicing and running his/her office.

  6. group 3 discussed this weeks topic through email, text, and face-to-face. The EHR we decided to compared were ChiroTech and ECLIPSE. Both had many options with many advantages. The 5 important issues our group looked at were:

    1. How user friendly it is
    2. How much does it cost
    3. How is the customer service
    4. What kind of training and how long
    5. How customizable is it.

We understand that our practices are going to be different so we tried to look at the basic functions of both products, and came to a conclusion they are both good and it depends on how you plan on running your practice on which one you might like more.

  7. Group #18

Medisoft and Eclipse. I liked the medisoft demo personally. It seemed as though it was very straightforward. The Eclipse EHR, I still haven't been too sure about. Each has pro's and con's, but I always rely heavily on word of mouth. More people have mentioned Medisoft as a "good" EHR. The 5 things to look for are as follows:

    1. Ease of use- can I do simple functions EASILY, such as enter a patient, pull up a patients chart, etc... Also, an over looked item is what the actual graphics/icons of the software looks like? This is key. There is certain EHR software with 1970 looking icons and text. It may be a good product but not "Fun" to use on a daily basis.
    2. Updates and changes- Is the software company updating regularly to change with the times? This I feel is key, because nowadays you don’t by software and that’s it. There must be regular updates to fix and better software as time goes by.
    3. Customer support- This is self explanatory! They either have it or they don’t.
    4. Security- With the amount of information that will be entered into the software, how secure is it. Is there easy and secure backup options?
    5. Cost- Anything good is worth paying for. If the product truly outdoes another company, then I will pay. Especially if it will help your business.
