3. Dependable, competent, and trustworty. Have to trust that the person will always be there, and always do everything properly(so you dont have to do it again)
4. Positive and good interpersonal skills. Be able to listen to patients and keep a smile on their face. People dont necessarily enjoy being around negative people
5. Healthy. No one wants to go to a healthcare setting where the Doctor or employees are sick more often than them.
Group 4 agreed on the following points for a front desk receptionist:

2.)They must be personable, this means smiling and being generally people friendly.
3.)They must conduct themselves as a professional would, this includes compliance with HIPPAA and any other laws and regulations associated with working in a health care facility.
4.)Basic typing and book keeping skills are also required.
5.)They must be a team player.
Some other things that people brought up that we didn't necessarily agree upon as a whole were:
-They must have some training in insurance billing software and phone etiquette.
-They must be willing to come to work early or stay late for emergencies or special cases.
-They must be organized.
-They must be willing to help out in other areas of the office aside from the front desk as needed such as cleaning or running errands that may need to be done during office hours.

ReplyDelete1) The receptionist must first be a people person - someone who smiles and relates to others
2) Be organized - be a time catcher, can control a busy and hectic environment because they will have time on their side.
3) Honest and trustworthy - this person will be the face of the franchise so to speak. Their actions will reflect our practice. Plus, you don't want the money to disappear.
4) Reliable - Rome wasnt built in a day and neither will the practice so it needs someone to be there on a daily basis.
5) Understand that chiropractic works. They don't need to know how, don't want them answering questions that the doctor should be accountable to, just that they know it works. Very difficult to sell something your heart doesn't believe. At some point in time, it will show through
